Oh my goodness!! Dani Pettrey has done it again. The third book in her Chesapeake Valor series, Blind Spot, is fantastic! I don’t know how she does it, but each new book is better than the last – and since the first book of her first series is one of my favorites, that’s really saying something!
Blind Spot grips you from the first page and doesn’t let go until the final paragraph. It has everything a good romantic suspense novel should have…suspense, romance, well-developed characters, a great storyline and God-honoring principles.
One of my favorite things about the way Dani Pettrey writes is how she incorporates the faith of her characters into her writing. In Blind Spot specifically, I really enjoyed seeing the faith of Declan, Tanner and Griffin written as unique to each of them. Our relationship with God is personal and we all share it or express it a little differently, so do her characters. They are more authentic because of this.
The various twists in this story keep you on your toes and keep you wondering what is going to happen next. Whether it’s solving a murder-mystery, understanding the different relationships at play or wondering how some people can be so evil, Blind Spot is constantly giving you something new to consider and think about.
Blind Spot is a book about living life with the knowledge that you are secure in the palm of God’s hand; that things aren’t always what they seem, even with people that you feel you know well; and that although there is evil in this world, there are people who choose to put their lives on the line to stop it and shield others from its reach.
The beautiful romance between Declan and Tanner is enjoyable to watch unfold. As with any relationship, there are obstacles. There are a few surprises amidst their obstacles. They approach them with grace and God’s love…a great example to us.
I have loved all of the Chesapeake Valor novels and recommend that you read them all if you haven’t already! Now, to figure out how to fast forward the calendar to July, 2018…that’s when the fourth and final book will hit shelves. I can’t wait!!
